Jüdisches ViertelGegen Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde das Areal des Ghettos mit seinen Slums, übelriechenden Hinterhöfen und engen Gässchen saniert und durch luxuriöse fünfstöckige Wohnhäuser ersetzt. Erhalten blieben das Rathaus, fünf Synagogen und der alte jüdische Friedhof.
